Scottsdale Mint is pleased to announce the latest release from the Barbados Trident coin program. This annual, legal tender, bullion coin program features the 2022 Barbados Trident 1 oz Silver Coin and 1 oz Gold Coin.

The Trident is most famously known as the weapon of the mythical god Poseidon. However, the Trident is also the national symbol of Barbados, representing strength, power, and the sea.

The Barbadian Trident, as seen on the national flag, differs from a standard trident in that it features a broken shaft. The broken shaft symbolizes Barbados’ historic break and eventual independence from the United Kingdom in 1966.

In 2022, the sixth year of the Barbados Trident program, the maximum mintage for this coin is limited to 30,000 pieces. These legal tender coins are manufactured and distributed by Scottsdale Mint, struck in .999+ fine silver, and weigh 1 Troy ounce each.
